The Marlow Kitchen
We have been asked to re-fit this tired kitchen.
We will be removing the partition wall to the left, replacing the ceiling and installing downlighters, tiling the floor, re-wiring, re-plastering where needed, laying new floor in the dining area, and re-coving the ceiling. We estimate that we will be here for about 3 weeks.
Thank you Joy and Ian for your confidence in us

With the wall now removed, all the cabinets removed, this room has really opened up. We have removed the old flooring in the kitchen and we will be replacing the carpet in the dining area with a wooden floor.

We have also removed the old ceiling to enable us to wire in the new set of downlighters. We have also stripped the walls of all blown plaster. We will be repairing this with new plaster to enhance the overall finish.

With all the plastering done, we can now think about the layout and tile the floor

It is amazing what can be done in just 3 weeks. I think this kitchen looks fantastic. The colour of the cabinets, the colour of the worktops, even the bold colour on the wall all complimented with stainless steel fittings it just works together really well,

With the wall now removed and a breakfast bar fitted, it has really turned this whole room into the social hub of the house. With the flat panel tv giving it a modern look.
Simple things make a big difference, the single layer of polished black tiles as a splash back, the wine rack that was made to fill a gap between the wall and the cabinet all come together to give this kitchen an air of quality

With the American style of fridge and 5 tall larder units, this kitchen now has plenty of storage. we have even made a concealed cupboard at the end for the ironing board.

With 16 new downlighters replacing 4 old pendant light fittings, I Iove the lighting in this room, This is also complimented by under cabinet lighting and the lights on the extractor fan.

Using the original oven and by adding a stainless steel splash back and extractor really works well with the colour scheme. Clean and simple but also very practical

A big thank you to Joy, Ian and family, Thank you all for the way in which you have looked after us over the last 3 weeks. Joy, thanks for allowing us to eat all the chocolate biscuits from your tin and anything else we could find ( thanking you on the behalf of Dave really ) and Ian thanks for all of your humourous remarks that you gave without of which we would have not have made it through the day and thanks for all of the running around that you did for us collecting parts etc. Tom, thanks again for your patience for all the times that you came home from school and there was no electricity and do not think for one moment that Dave and I have forgotten about our Yums Yums, we will be expecting replacements! thanks to Natalie ( Joys 20 yr old lovely daughter ) for putting up with all the noise that we made during the day while you where still trying to sleep!! and well, just for being there and giving us the incentive to get there on time!!!
