The Ealing Bathroom
I really do love these old Victorian houses and this one is no exception. They bring with them charm, character and not to mention the odd 100 year old teaser that sets us a challange or two
The owner of this property had a clear vision of what she wanted in this space, clean, simple and modern. It works really well.

Beautiful tiles, chrome fittings and a white suite. Less is definitely more in this case.

Big tiles ( 60cm X 30 ) layed in a brick formation brings this room together. Being an old property the walls, shall we say were not that flat. Laying tiles in this way meant that we had to spend alot of time making sure that the alignment of the tiles was absolutely perfect. It took time, but the end result speaks for itself.

Using the same tiles on the floor as well as the wall adds to the simplicity of this design, a great idea. Under floor heating makes this room an inviting one.

This is one of those projects that we can't help admiring. We keep going into the bathroom, standing back and thinking to ourselves, what a great job. Hope you agree.

Of course, this wouldn't have been possible for the kindness of its owner, Jane. Jane, thank so much ( I know we keep on saying it ) but it was a real pleasure. You really did bring the best out of Dave and I with your warmth and welcoming spirit. You made us feel like we were working in our own home and if I ever get thrown out of mine, well I know where to come. We enjoyed every minute of it, even when the walls crumbled away! A special thank you has to go to Janie, Janie, dont know what to say or where to start. The kindness and thoughtfulness that you have shown to David and I will not be forgotten. From the looking after me when I was suffering with a cold, the little snacks that you made for our journeys home, the stories that kept us company during the day and every other little thing that you did for us that would take me too long to mention. ( including putting your finger in freshly layed sealant!! ) and what did we do for you??? Got you out of bed too early in the morning.
Needless to say, that we look forward to seeing you both very soon.
Thanks Ray and Dave
